Rep. Kyler Sweely ranks fourth among 165 House members statewide in lobbyist spending.

Kansas Contractors Association lobbyist bought Kyler Sweely roughly $1,617 in meals across 35 separate outings in 2025. That's about one meal every ten days, sustained across the entire disclosure year, from a single association.

Total lobbyist spending on Sweely for 2025: $4,624.64. Only three House members received more: Avery Anderson ($7,393.77), Nick Hoheisel ($6,198.29), and House Speaker Daniel Hawkins ($5,303.55). Sweely, representing a single Hutchinson district, drew more lobbyist spending than all but three members of the entire Kansas House.

Kansas Bankers Association added to the menu. Centene Corporation, the state's largest Medicaid managed-care contractor, bought Sweely dinner. Ascension Via Christi Health, one of the state's largest hospital systems, gave him a $25 cooler.

The pattern: contractors, bankers, hospital systems, healthcare insurers, and utilities all had standing access to Sweely's calendar throughout 2025, delivered one meal, one ticket, one gift at a time.
